Leonard Peltier, recently transferred to Canaan Prison, has been severely beaten by fellow inmates. Because he will not name his attackers, prison authorities are limiting him to one meal per day even though he is diabetic. Whether you believe he is guilty or innocent doesn't matter; this is cruel and unusual punishment by any standards, and a serious threat to the health of a U.S. prisoner. We don't need any more Gitmos.
